If you need a reliable unit for home back up,
here's a few popular models:
For basic needs such as Refrigerator, Lights, computer,
TV, and Fan use, check out the Robin-Subaru R1700i portable generators.
They average around 8 hours per gallon of gas. If you have a small
window AC, you can rotate it and the refrigerator. The inverter
models provide 100% computer safe clean power.
The larger inverter models are incredibly
fuel efficient which is important for extended outages. Check the
Subaru RG3200is, and RG4300is or the Yamaha EF3000iseB Boost.
They can run Windows ACs, Refrigerators, Lights, TVs, and More.
They generally use about 1/3 of a gallon of fuel per hour (most models
in that output range burn closer to a gallon an hour).
If you have large draw 220V needs
such as a well pump, you'll need a larger unit generally in the
5000+ watt range. The Honda powered Winco HPS6000HE
Tri-Fuel portable generators
are
good solutions at great prices.
