Honda generators have long been respected for quiet operation. The chart below will give you an idea of just how quiet each Honda generator is at it's rated output. Some models such as the EU1000i, EU2000i, and EU3000is inverter generators have the Honda "eco-throttle" feature which allows them to adjust the engines rpm up or down depending on the amount of wattage being pulled from the generator. That means the generator's noise level with vary depending on the exact load at any given time.
If your looking
for a quiet generator to power your RV, camper, motorhome 5th wheel, boat,
etc. you'll most likely want to stay with a generator that operates
under 65dB at your average load. This should keep you and your
neighbors happy. If you can stay under 60dB then you'll really be
quiet. Also remember that
your RV may need a lot of power for initial start up power for high draw
items such as the roof top air conditioner but once the AC compressor has
started up, it does not pull nearly as much power once running which lets
the Inverter type generators lower the engine's rpms to follow the demand.
This keeps the generator running as quiet as possible. |
